The development of Media Park follows two tracks: on the one hand it will remain a business park, but on the other, it will also become a theme park with immense public appeal.
Masterplan: Media Park in 2020?
The business park will accommodate new media-related companies. A planned business support centre will moreover provide residents with new services, such as a fitness centre, a health centre or daycare facilities.
The theme park will acquire national appeal. In December 2006, Media Experience of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision opened its doors at Media Park. Media Experience consists of a high-profile, interactive presentation and a unique museum collection covering more than 80 years of broadcasting history. New functions, like a Grand Café, a multiplex cinema or hotel facilities will further enhance the attraction of Media Experience.
These twin developments will ensure that Media Park grows into a prominent media cluster in Europe and that Hilversum keeps its position as media city!
